The Daan Viljoen Game Park was proclaimed in 1968 and is, with only 39.53 sqkm, one of Namibia’s smallest parks.
Daan Viljoen, categorized by IUCN in category II, is only 25 kms from Windhoek and thus a popular weekend retreat for many people. You can experience the “typical” Namibian savannah game, including Wildebeest, Giraffe, Oryx, Kudu and the grand Waterbuck. The accommodation facilities were privatized in 2012.
Further information can be found on the official site of the MEFT at www.meft.gov.na.
