Union cries foul over illegal shuttle operators

The Namibia Transport and Taxi Union (NTTU) last week called for intervention with foreign shuttle operators who illegally work at the international airport.

The union’s leader, Werner Januarie, claimed that there is no control at the Hosea Kutako International Airport and that these drivers operate without the correct permits.

“There is currently no control at the facility intended for shuttle operations, hence we observe the influx of foreigners providing such services with their private vehicles who do not even have the decency to acquire or apply for operators’ permits,” he said.
