Chairman of the Namibia Tourism Association (NTA), Bernd Schneider said the tourism industry has been exemplary in following the state of emergency regulations.
The sector has effectively closed its doors.
There is no movement from local travellers and lodges have seized operations until the end of June.
Schneider said the industry is the hardest hit because there are no guests available and no travel allowed for bookings.
“Foreign nationals contribute highly to the income generated from this industry,” he said.
