A LEAST N$20 million is needed to restore the historic Namutoni Fort at Etosha National Park to its former glory.
This was said in a statement by Namibia Wildlife Resorts spokesperson Mufaro Nesongano in response to photos circulating on social media showing a dilapidated interior and exterior of the building.
The photos were posted by former park ranger Phillip Steyn on Sunday afternoon following his visit to the fort on Thursday.
“Never in my life have I ever been this disgusted by what I saw this weekend at Etosha. As an old “bokkiewagter” [park ranger] of 22 years’ service, it broke my heart when I walked into the fort at Namutoni.
